We wanted something that was sturdy and would hold our three children. We purchased our Bounce House off Amazon. At a discount, mind you. As soon as it arrived the mail carrier stated how obnoxiously heavy the box was. HaHa. It weighs in at about 60 pounds. Which really isn’t that bad. I was surprised at how sturdy it was. I was able to carry our Air Walker Bounce Castle around back to set it up with ease.

 ”BLAST ZONE” are one of the best brands on the market. First off, they are American made. The second thing is, you need to decide is what features you want like Balls, slides, hoops or whatever features you think you want. We love that it is extremely vibrant and bright. You can tell by the look on my kids faces that they love it.

I would definitely recommend this castle to all families.

Speaking of stressing, I had a small panic attack while we were at the doctor’s office on Tuesday. I’m not sure what set it off, my anxiety has been a little out of whack the past few weeks. I remember being really hot and there were way too many people in that small office. After that, it’s kind of a blur. I tried my best to calm myself down, which I’ve perfected when the panic attack is in the very early stages. 

We left the doctor’s office and went downstairs to get blood drawn for him and then pick up a prescription. While we waited for the blood draw, I knew I had a good hour or so before I had to get back in the car and drive, so I took a half of one of my pills to help with the anxiety. Thankfully, that tiny little pill kicked in quickly and I was feeling better in about 45 minutes.

Note to self…. call the doctor on Monday! This crap is getting old. It’s sad when these anxiety problems happen and I can’t pinpoint the cause. Thankfully, the panic attack wasn’t very bad and I was able to control it well.

Dad and I traveled to Indy on Thursday evening to get to the motel about 15 minutes away from the hospital. His surgery was set for 6 a.m. on Friday and we had to check in at 4 a.m. Yuk! We woke up at 2 a.m. and by the time I showered, got ready and got things loaded in the car we were right on time.

Oh, I guess I should mention why Dad was having surgery! DUH! His surgeon noticed a month ago that his carotid artery was 80% blocked and they needed to go in and clean things out. The procedure he had done is called a Endarterectomy. Here’s info from those smart folks at Harvard about it:

Endarterectomy involves physically removing plaque from inside the carotid artery. A surgeon makes an incision in the neck to expose the artery, clamps the artery, then opens it lengthwise in the region of the narrowing. After scraping the fatty plaque out of the artery, the surgeon enlarges the artery with a diamond-shaped patch, stitches the artery together, then closes the skin of the neck.

My brother, uncle, aunt and cousin were all there for the 3 1/2 hour surgery. The doctor said things went well and we were able to see Dad in recovery an hour later. Here’s the aftermath of Dad’s carotid artery surgery:

It looks awful, kind of like a screwed up Frankenstein, but he feels pretty good. He’s sore, which is expected, but doing great. I was able to bring him home today and he felt well enough to roll himself in his wheelchair over and then use his prosthetic leg and walker to walk into my house to watch the NASCAR race. (It’s the All Star Race!!!)

Needless to say, I’m exhausted. I never sleep good in motels and I’m looking forward to hitting the hay and sleeping in tomorrow. And then there’s Monday right around the corner… It’ll be a long busy week, especially since my two week vacation starts on Friday at 5!!
