PetMate Cat Products Review!

The folks over at PetMate.com were so kind to send my furbabies a little surprise! The box arrived Friday afternoon while I was working and my hubby placed the big box on the dining room table. By the time I got home, all three furbabies were on top of the box! I think they could smell the catnip and I’m really shocked they didn’t try to tear through the cardboard.

I shooed the kids off and opened the box, checked out what was inside and folded the top shut. I told the kids we’d open everything after dinner… And yes, I talk to my cats. And yes, they are my children. I left the box and made dinner, ate and came back to the a couple hours later to find this:

Sissy, the evil little sphinx, crawled between the flaps of the box and was laying inside the box sound asleep. She was so proud of herself for getting into that box! After we laughed and convinced Sissy to come out of the box, we checked out what was inside!

Let’s just start this off by saying my furbabies, Fuzz, Sissy and Koli LOVED everything! Their favorite? The Boogie Mat! Check out the video of Fuzz giving it whirl…

The cool thing about the Boogie Mat is that the little zipper on the end is like a pillow case. It opens right up and you can pour as much or as little catnip as you like inside. The catnip that came with the Boogie Mat is called Zoom and is 100% organic and made by Fat Cat as well. This stuff is STRONG! The cats love it… LOVVVVEEEEE IT!

Fuzz is the hard to please old man of the family (besides my husband) and is so picky about what he eats, plays with or sleeps on. I couldn’t believe how fast he took to the catnip and he was so happy. Koli on the other hand is a catnip junkie and plays and sleeps on this mat constantly. They’re two very happy boys… Loving the Boogie Mat.

Next up for the Armstrong Kitty test was the Zoom Stuffers Catnip Toy. The Cat Scratch Wheel took a little bit to get the cats adjusted to, but they took nicely to it. Sissy loves to make the wheel spin and catch the mouse. We pick it up and stick it back on with the conveniently attached velco and she’s ready to spin again. Hubby joked that it looks like she’s spinning the big wheel on the Price is Right. LOL! Underneath the wheel in the little tray area is another scratching area that is sprinkled with catnip too for extra fun. Very cool!It took me ages to get a picture of the little surfer dude because Koli kept yanking him away and running. He’s such a mess and loves to carry around his “babies” and play fetch with him. Surfer Dude has slept in my bed every night with me, hubby and Koli. He’s a hit!

Finally, we set up the Kitty Kahuna Tiki Hut for the furbabies. Note that this isn’t very large in diameter so if you have a plus sized cat like my Fuzz, they won’t fit well. He did get inside, but you could tell he wasn’t comfortable. He only stayed in a minute and hasn’t been near it again. Sissy and Koli had a different opinion and have vegged out inside the tiki hut every night. Usually Sissy sleeps inside of it at night and to make her extra happy, I’ve set it up on my nightstand. (I know, I know… my cats are spoiled.)

Another wonderful thing about all of the PetMate products that we reviewed is that they’re all catnip refillable. The Surfer Dude’s pants open in the front to hold catnip; catnip can be sprinkled into the tiki hut and cat wheel; and finally, the playmat can be refilled over and over again by opening the zipper and adding more.

Overall, we love PetMate and their products. The organic catnip set off all of these great products and I promise from now on, I’ll be buying only organic for my furbabies!
